In recent years we have witnessed a surge in the global appetite for sustainable fashion as education and experience have illuminated the environmental and social impact of fast fashion. One reason, in part, is the increasing scientific data that has daubed the fashion industry as the second largest contributor to the climate crisis. We want to change that. 

More and more of us are changing our consumer habits in favour of more conscientious choices, swapping fleeting gratification for pieces that take our breath away and give us substantially more wear-per-buy. 

At FAROS, we strive to do the best we can to slow down and create considered, ethically-made swimwear for men that doesn't hurt the planet. Surrounded by the natural beauty and relaxed pace of Mykonos and the stunning Cyclades, it’s hard for us to imagine doing it any other way. From our timeless Classics collection to the Shades of Blue series that draws inspiration from the sparkling Aegean sea and loulaki-blue architecture, the beauty of our environment pervades our design.

This is why we choose to make all our swim shorts the way we do. Every step of their life cycle is as low impact as possible: the 100% recycled polyester fabric made of plastic bottles, that would otherwise take thousands of years to degrade; the FSC certified recyclable packaging; and the fact they can be recycled when they no longer serve you. The result is a breathable, soft-to-touch fabric that lends itself effortlessly to the most luxurious designs.

Most importantly, all of our garments are all made in Greece, in healthy work environments for fair pay. Our philosophy is all about heart and soul, we value humanity over quick profit and we believe this is reflected in the extraordinary quality of our recycled swimwear.
